Wellbeing Team | Student Services at the University of West London
It’s really important that you feel
supported throughout your time at UWL and the Wellbeing Team are here for you.
They offer three services – counselling, disability & mental health support, and
faith. Counselling is a really effective way to help you deal with difficulties
at any stage of your life. You can talk about any issues that are confusing,
painful or uncomfortable which affect your wellbeing. It can help you to get a
better understanding of your situation and help you to develop different ways
of dealing with it. The service is one-to-one and completely confidential.
If you have a disability, mental health condition, specific learning difficulty,
sensory impairment, autistic spectrum condition or long-term health condition,
then the team can help. They can provide advice on reasonable adjustments, and if
needed will create an individual support plan for you. The team can also help with
funding that might be available, such as the disabled students allowance funding.
The university also knows that faith is an important part of life for many
students. An interfaith adviser is on hand for support and there are rooms for
prayer and meditation for people of any faith or none, for individuals or for
small groups. Remember, these services are free for all
students so contact the team to get the support you need.
