[MUSIC] Welcome to the Syracuse University Libraries! We are your resource for academic success. With just your SU Net-ID, you have the power
to access world-class research and information services 24-hours a day. At the heart of the SU Libraries is Bird Library
– the busiest academic building on campus– open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week during
the academic year. Students, faculty and staff also can take
advantage of the diverse resources available at the Carnegie Library, and the Architecture
Reading Room in Slocum Hall. Other libraries on campus include the Martin
Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Sims Hall, the Law Library in the College of Law, and
Moon Library at SUNY ESF. Library collections in print and online are
extensive and serve the teaching and research needs of all of SU’s academic programs. The Special Collections Research Center, Belfer
Audio Archive, and University Archives are home to some of the University’s most prized
possessions, including rare books and other printed works, manuscript and archival collections,
and over half a million sound recordings. There is even an official Academy Award in
the collection. It’s a fact: students who use the library
do better in school, so get to know the Library staff! Faculty and students can contact a subject
librarian for in-depth research guidance. Librarians are also available to support faculty
with library instruction. Stop by for an in-person meeting… or reach
out by phone, text, email, or chat. Need some quiet space? The SU Libraries offer a variety of individual
and group study spaces, including a newly renovated quiet reading room on the lower
level of Bird Library. There are many comfortable spots to sit and
get your work done throughout the building. The iconic Reading Room in Carnegie Library
is also a popular study spot for students needing a quiet place to focus. Working in a group? Bird Library offers collaborative study space
including technology-equipped group study rooms and private study rooms that can be
booked in advance. Not on campus? No problem! Library.syr.edu is your gateway to Libraries’
collections and services online. Find books and articles for classes or research,
book a group study room, request items through interlibrary loan, and more. Your Syracuse University Libraries have the
tech you need to make your digital projects buzz! Borrow a laptop, camera, mini-projector, adaptors
or other gear. Also available are printers, plotters, scanners,
multimedia software…not to mention videos, maps, and statistical software. Visit the service desk, on the 1st floor Learning
Commons in Bird Library for all your technology needs. And by the way, if your personal batteries
are running low, you can recharge those too with visit to Pages Café, located on the
first floor of Bird Library. We are your Syracuse University Libraries
and we are here to help you succeed! [MUSIC]
