AN ANNUAL SURVEY BY CAREER BUILDER FINDS 53 PERCENT OF EMPLOYERS OFFERING SUMMER JOBS THIS YEAR HAVE OPENINGS THAT PAY 15 DOLLARS OR MORE PER HOUR. THAT’S WELL ABOVE THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE OF $7.25. SEVENTY-TWO PERCENT WILL PAY THEIR SUMMER HIRES AN AVERAGE OF TEN DOLLARS OR MORE PER HOUR…. THAT’S UP FROM 64 PERCENT LAST YEAR. COMPANIES ARE HIRING FOR A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL AND SUPPORT POSITIONS, INCLUDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OFFICE SUPPORT.
