Math Learning Center with Nyasha

During my freshman year I really
struggled with Math 133, a Calculus 2 course. Even though I was doing my
homework, going to class, and doing my best on the exams, I just couldn’t get
the answer right, or I couldn’t understand what the professor expected
from us in a U.S. classroom. Fortunately, my Intercultural Aid, also known as an
ICA, checked in on me just before my midterms. He recommended that I visit the
Math Learning Center to get free help from a tutor in my Neighborhood
Engagement Center. I couldn’t believe that I could get free lessons for my
specific course at such a convenient location. My tutor was a math teaching
assistant and explained the information to me in a way that I could understand. I
not only survived the course, but I was able to get a grade that I was proud of
thanks to the Math Learning Center.
