Jennifer Tardy: In this video I’m going to
show you three of my most favorite LinkedIn job search tools. These are tools that I always recommend everyone
to use and you’re going to love them too. Don’t forget to stick around until the very
end because as usual I’m going to share my Black Career Success bonus tip for you and
you don’t want to miss that. So if you’re looking for career advice then
you want to make sure that you subscribe to this channel or click bell because when you
click that bell you’ll get notified every time we upload a new video. Which is every Tuesday. You got it? Click the bell. LinkedIn tool number one. It is called LinkedIn Salary. If you not even if, you should know your earning
potential hands down. And with this tool if you go to LinkedIn Salary
and go into this tool you can answer their questions about your job title, your geographic
area and it is going to share with you what people in the market doing the same job that
you do or at least a similar one, what they are making. It is a very valuable tool to use so that
when you’re looking for that next job offer you know your worth and you know how much
you should ask for for that job in particular. And you’ll if a company’s trying to underpay
you as well. So LinkedIn Salary. Now as a quick side note, have you ever wondered
how companies actually determine what salary to pay you? I’ve already created a video about this. So if you’ve ever wondered and you want more
information, just go to this other video, how companies determine your salary. Check it out ’cause it’s going to give you
some valuable information that you can use in determining your own while you’re using
the LinkedIn salary tool. My most favorite LinkedIn tool number two. It’s called LinkedIn Profinder and it helps
you to find freelancers or organizations that can help you along your search. So more specifically if you’re looking for
a career coach or if you’re looking for someone to do something a little more specific like
to help you update your resume or to help you to prepare for an interview, things more
focused, you can used LinkedIn Profinder to help you do those things. And you’ll find me there but you don’t have
to look for me there because you can find me here as well too. So LinkedIn Profinder, it’s a tool that clients
love using for whatever their needs are. Be sure to check it out. Let me ask you quickly, have you ever searched
for a career coach? Have you ever thought about searching for
a career coach. If you have not, tell us why. Put something over in the comment section. I’m really curious to know. Let’s get that conversation going. Now, my most favorite LinkedIn tool number
three is called LinkedIn Learning. I adore learning and through their LinkedIn
Learning community you can take classes on anything that you need to know to develop
yourself professionally. So you may find things on how to use Microsoft
Excel all the way to how to manage a team. There’s a lot of learning that happens through
LinkedIn Learning so do not take that for granted. Look it up. It’s a really good tool that you want to make
sure that you use on your end. Okay, okay, okay. I’m sure you probably thought that I forgot
about the bonus tip but I didn’t. So for those of you who are waiting around
for Black Career Success bonus tip, another one of my most faves are LinkedIn Groups. So LinkedIn Groups especially if you are a
person of color or if you know that you’re looking for an organization that is looking
for more diversity then you need to go to a group in LinkedIn that is targeting diverse
populations because again, put on that recruiter hat, you need to go to where you think recruiters
are going to go looking for you. So check out the plethora of LinkedIn groups
out there. Find the one that is suitable to your own
knowledge, skills and abilities and even your own area of diversity that you’re focused
on and join that group. Engage in that group and more specifically
find a recruiter through that group or hiring manager through that group. So that’s the Black Career Success tip moment
for this video. So now that you know how to use LinkedIn as
a powerful tool let me remind you of another tool. If you have not yet downloaded my free guide
